Last Saturday's Fossil Paint Workshop was bursting with creativity and fun! All materials are included in our workshops, all you need to do is to bring a small piece of furniture or item that you want to re-vamp. We will go through all neccessary techniques, including how to use the paint correctly and give helpful tips depending on what look you are going for.
The Fossil Paint range that we use is unique in that it gives a really good durable finish as well as being easy to apply. Not much preparation work is needed except cleaning your piece and maybe lightly sanding it if there are rough patches on the surface of your furniture. But in general you will only need to clean off the dust before you start painting. The paint is water based so it's really easy to clean your brushes after using them.
There are new decorative knobs and découpage paper that can also be used in the workshops. Patterned découpage adds a really pretty element to painted furniture. We will show you how to best work with découpage and give advice as to where it could be used on the piece you are working on.
We have a range of finishing products to protect your piece after it's been painted, although you could just leave it as is. But if you wanted that extra bit of protection or even just something to enhance the look of the piece you could try the Fossil Paint Furniture Make-Up. This product is beautiful to use and you just need a damp sponge to apply it. We have a variety of different colour tones and sheens, it really does look just like make-up with the beautful pearlescent shine. Using this finish can really transform your furniture.
If you don't have a suitable piece of furniture you could bring in a mirror, photo frame lamp etc instead. To book a place in one of our workshops and for more information phone 0404 40502 or visit our showrooms at the shopping courtyard, Mount Usher Gardens, Ashford, Co. Wicklow.
